Dear Property Owner:
If your home or business was uninhabitable on Jan. 1, 2007, please contact our office. We will need information pertinant to damage and estimated completion date of repair.
Please check your mailing address for correctness at this time. This is imperative, especially if you have had a route and box number in the past.
As provided by Louisiana Revised Statute 47:1992, any person who appeals in writing to the Assessor during this period and who wishes to further appeal their assessment must request a hearing by the Board of Review either by appearing in person at its office at 21490 Koop Dr., Mandeville or by filing such notice by means of certified mail.
The St. Tammany Parish Council will convene as a Board of Review on October 4, 2007 at 6:00 P.M. in the Parish Council Chambers to hear complaints from taxpayers who wish to further their appeal. In order to appeal to the Board of Review taxpayers must have first appealed to the Assessor during the exposure period and must also appeal to the Board of Review at least 7 days prior to the hearing date of October 4, 2007. The Board of Review period will extend through October 19, 2007. Additional hearings will be conducted, if necessary.
It has always been my belief that the property owner has every right to know how an agency that affects him functions. As your Assessor, I prepared this web site as a public service to assist you, the St. Tammany Parish property owner, with the most commonly asked questions and a brief overview of the duties and responsibilities of your Assessor's Office. I ask, in return, if you find errors or inequities in the information provided, that you report them to my office. Should you ever need or want additional information concerning your property taxes or the laws governing them, please give us a call. My staff and I are committed to serving you as fairly and efficiently as possible.
The information available on this website is for the 2001 through 2006 tax years.
Sincerely
