Dear Property Owner:

Important Notice

Field appraisers from our office may be in your area to measure properties weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. These appraisers wear white shirts with our office logo, black pants and maroon jackets in inclement weather. When the appraiser approaches your property, he or she will first attempt to notify you of their presence.

If you need assistance or have questions, please call your Assessor's office at 809-8180.

If you have not yet filed for homestead exemption, it is important that you file now. You only have to file once.

It has always been my belief that the property owner has every right to know how an agency that affects him functions. As your Assessor, I prepared this web site as a public service to assist you, the St. Tammany Parish property owner, with the most commonly asked questions and a brief overview of the duties and responsibilities of your Assessor's Office. I ask, in return, if you find errors or inequities in the information provided, that you report them to our office. Should you ever need or want additional information concerning your property taxes or the laws governing them, please give us a call. My staff and I are committed to serving you as fairly and efficiently as possible.

The information available on this website is for the 2001 through 2011 tax years.

Sincerely
