Dear Property Owner:

Taxing Bodies Public Meeting

All taxing bodies that have advertised to hold a public meeting in August and September to consider increasing millage rates to the maximum will reschedule their public meetings in October. Please visit this website for dates and times of the rescheduled meetings.

The 2008 St Tammany Parish Tax Roll will be open for public inspection September 8-September 22, 2008. It is imperative that all property owners review their assessments during this time. This is the only time to legally appeal your assessment. All appeals must be in writing and submitted before September 22, 2008. There will be no extensions. For your convenience, an Application for Review is available for you to download from this site. Completed applications may be mailed, faxed or presented to our office in person. Please contact either our Covington or Slidell office if you need assistance completing the form, or if you have additional questions.

If you have not yet filed for homestead exemption, it is important that you file now. You only have to file once.

It has always been my belief that the property owner has every right to know how an agency that affects him functions. As your Assessor, I prepared this web site as a public service to assist you, the St. Tammany Parish property owner, with the most commonly asked questions and a brief overview of the duties and responsibilities of your Assessor's Office. I ask, in return, if you find errors or inequities in the information provided, that you report them to my office. Should you ever need or want additional information concerning your property taxes or the laws governing them, please give us a call. My staff and I are committed to serving you as fairly and efficiently as possible.

The information available on this website is for the 2001 through 2007 tax years.

Sincerely
